Although the majority of our clients are dogs and cats, we have experience handling:

What if my pet requires medication or has special health needs? . . .
We are staffed by veterinary professionals who are skilled and trained to handle complex medical conditions and administer medications, including injectables. We do not charge for administration of oral medication, but we do have a $5.00 injectable fee per visit. Must my pet be current on vaccinations? . . .
All pets must be up to date on vaccines. Please make sure your pet’s profile reflects the most current vaccine information each year.
What if my pet has access to my fenced in yard? . . .
Fenced in yards are wonderful areas for supervised pets, however, no fence system is entirely secure for your pet’s safety and protection. Paws-Up GVL will not be liable for any customer’s pets that escape, become injured or lost, fatal or otherwise, when pets are instructed to be left out or given access to a fenced in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal, or any other yard parameters.
Can I meet my sitter? . . .
Yes! We do require scheduling a complimentary meet-and-greet prior to accepting reservations with your potential sitter to meet your furry family and familiarize ourselves with your home and requests. Schedule your meet and greet here.
How are pet sitters hired and trained? . . .
Paws-Up GVL staffs only veterinary professionals. Our sitters must have current veterinary experience and must have at least one year of pet sitting experience. We have an immersive interview process and conduct detailed background checks. After a new sitter has accepted a position, he or she is introduced to our standard procedures for scheduling and meeting clients, followed by on-the-job training with another sitter.
How do I schedule pet sitting services? . . .
Click here to schedule your pet sitting services. All scheduling requests and cancellations must be made through the our online client portal. Scheduling will not be accepted through call, text message or email.
When is payment due? . . .
Payment is due at day of service. Visits will not be completed until payment for the services has been received.
What forms of payment do you accept? . . .
We accept checks made payable to Paws-Up GVL, Cash or Venmo.
What if I am returning home earlier than expected and do not need all of the visits I had scheduled? . . .
If you’re returning home early and have scheduled visits, please contact Paws-Up GVL and your sitter as soon as possible. We try to maximize our sitters time to the fullest, therefore clients canceling a drop-in visit with less than 48 hour notice will be charged for a drop-in visit rate for the first visit that is not needed, all following visits will be cancelled with no charge.
If you are deducting an overnight stay from a reservation with less than 48 hour notice, you will be held responsible for the full overnight fee.
What if I am returning home later than expected and need to add more visits/overnights? . . .
Inform Paws-UP GVL as soon as possible! We want to accommodate you as best as we can!
What is your reservation cancellation policy? . . .
We try to maximize our sitters time to the fullest, therefore if you're cancelling your entire reservation please allow for 7 days’ notice prior to the stay or you will be held responsible for paying 50% of the total reservation. Clients canceling drop-in visits with less than 7 days' notice will be charged the drop-in visit rate for the first visit that is not needed, all following visits will be cancelled with no charge.
For Holiday Cancelling: Cancelling: 14 days or less prior to a holiday date (listed below), you will be responsible for 50% of the total reservation.
Holidays Include: Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year’s, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
What if my pet doesn't like to wear collars or leashes? . . .
We abide by Greenville County leash laws. All pets will be required to be on leash during outdoor walks.
What if the weather is bad? . . .
Paws-Up GVL Pet Sitters will use their best judgment while caring for your pet during times of inclement weather. Our staff and your pet’s safety are our topmost concern. The inclement weather plan will be as follows:
1) Every effort will be made to drive to your home
2) The service schedule may be interrupted or modified due to inclement circumstances
3) If it is not possible to drive safely to your home, you will be notified and then the emergency contact will be notified.
Do you allow late booking? . . .
Paws-Up GVL at this time does not allow for same day booking. Last minute emergencies and business trips do happen, and we will do our very best to accommodate any last-minute requests. However, we cannot guarantee services without sufficient notice. All short notice requests will incur an additional $15 late booking fee.
What if my pet hurts my pet sitter/walker? . . .
It is the pet owners financial responsibility if your pet bites another pet/person while in the care of Paws-Up GVL. Due to SC Greenville County laws and regulations we will follow all protocols associated with Greenville Animal Care and Control and/or any other local Animal Care and Control. If your pet bites or harms the sitter they are required to seek medical attention and file the incident with SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.
